FCAT Undergraduate Conference 2016

SFU’s Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology presents its sixth annual Undergraduate Conference on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Surrey City Hall.

Students share their essays, performances, films, art pieces, and projects with fellow FCAT students, faculty and staff, while celebrating the diversity of FCAT programs.

The theme of the 2016 conference is ‘craft‘. Although the concept of craft may mean different things to communication, contemporary art, interactive art, and technology, for each discipline it carries an association with passion.

RSVP to attend and share your passion and ideas in communication, contemporary arts, interactive arts, and publishing in an interdisciplinary conversation exploring ideas of ‘craft’ at the 2016 FCAT Undergraduate Conference.

Spring 2016 – Special Topics course in Typography

In the Spring, PUB 478 will be running a Special Topics course called “Typography in Depth” taught by Robin Mitchell Cranfield.

This course provides a clear, thorough understanding of typography through explorations of legibility, hierarchy, organization, history, typeface classification, rhythm and style, as well as a thoughtful approach to content and communication. Students will examine typography through lectures, readings, discussion and research.

For more details about the course, visit the outline on the PUB 478: Special Topics page.
