Alcuin Book Design Awards Ceremony & Panel on Graphic Storytelling
The award ceremony for the 34th Alcuin Awards for Excellence in Book Design in Canada will take place September 22 in Vancouver, with tickets open to the public. The event is co-sponsored by the Alcuin Society and Emily Carr University of Art + Design. Registration is free at Eventbrite.

Panel Info
As well as the award presentation, the Society will present a panel on Graphic Storytelling. This will be moderated by Robin McConnell, host of the Inkstuds podcast.
The panelists are:
- Nick Bantock – author/illustrator of the Griffin and Sabine Trilogy
- Sarah Leavitt – author/illustrator of the graphic memoir, Tangles: A Story About Alzheimer’s, My Mother, and Me
- Johnnie Christmas – author/illustrator of Firebug; illustrator of Margaret Atwood’s graphic novel, Angel Catbird

This year’s Alcuin award winning books will be on display. Copies of the presenters’ books will be available for signing and purchase at the event.
